Next to Jortt

Jortt goes furthest on automatic posting and on tax reporting — including a head start on your income tax return. It's also the most Dutch of the three, and that's exactly the point.

Short answer

Jortt is a Dutch accounting package with a strong focus on automatic posting and tax reporting, with a free entry plan and paid plans from €19.95 a month (Jortt ZZP, up to 250 entries a month) to €34.95 a month. The package presents itself as fully Dutch-language. Booxx costs €19 a month with no entry cap and works in five languages, down to the ledger accounts and the outgoing email. If you want maximum automation and tax reporting in Dutch, Jortt is stronger; if you don't read Dutch, it isn't an option.

Choose Jortt if…

  • you read Dutch and want to post as little as possible yourself;
  • you value a worked-out head start on your income tax return;
  • you want time tracking and projects in the same package;
  • you stay under 250 entries a month and the free plan is already enough.

Choose us if…

  • Dutch isn't your language and you still want to do your own posting;
  • you have more than 250 entries a month;
  • your invoices need to go out in your customer's language;
  • you run several sets of books side by side;
  • your books are dormant for part of the year.

Questions about switching

Can I bring my bookkeeping with me if I switch?

Yes. Every Dutch accounting package can produce an audit file (XAF) — that's a legal requirement. You import it here, including your chart of accounts, your entries and your open items.

Can I switch halfway through the year?

Yes. You pick a start date, import your audit file or your opening balance, and post here from that point on. The periods you've already filed with your previous package stay there.

Will my bookkeeper work with this?

They can see your books if you let them in, and they get the audit file in the format they're used to. If they'd rather work in their own package, that audit file is exactly what they need.

Why do you name your competitors?

Because you're going to compare anyway, and because we aren't better on every point. Above, per package, you'll find when you're better off there. That's fairer, and it saves you a month of trying things out.
